• Finally evaluate the solutions using outside sources to find evidence to support your claims.

How to get started:
1. Create a "New Project" in NoodleTools and share with Ms Spicer's Dropbox
2. Find background on your issue by checking in the online catalog. We have MANY opposing viewpoints books on current issues. Some are so new that they are being kept at the library desk since they are not in the online catalog yet. In all of the Opposing Viewpoints books, there are essays by experts on the subject. Choose an essay or two and photocopy so that others can use the books, too.
3. Check in databases like SIRS (especially the Pro vs Con Leading Issues area on the right, clicking on the "More Issues" link), Facts on File Issues and Controversies and/or CQ Researcher. This should help you find a country where this is a current problem.
4. Try these databases for information to support your position on the topic:
SELECTED DATABASES:
SIRS (which includes SIRS Researcher (current issues) as well as SIRS Renaissance, SIRS Government Reporter, SIRS Web Select (selected websites) and SIRS Discoverer (which is more middle school). You can find newspapers, magazines, reference sources to support your project
CQ Researcher (Note: please do not print a whole report. They are GREAT but often 30 pages long. Print the sections you actually need; it's a printing choice. You can e-mail to yourself, too.
